Welcome to the IVAO US Academy

The aim of the Academy is to explain basic principles of Aviation and Air Traffic Management in such a way that they can be understood by a broad public. It is also meant to serve as a more professional training for Pilots or Air Traffic Controllers. The information shown has been selected on what is considered of basic relevance for flight and air traffic control simulation within the USA and reworked to achieve a level of simplicity so it can be understood by a wide variety of people.

Although the US Academy does not provide as detailed and in-dept information as given in professional training manuals, it's content is thoroughly cross-checked with the original FAA documentation to exclude mistakes and misconceptions as much as possible.
